Microsoft Remote Desktop is a service that allows users to access and use their computer through another device, such as an iPhone or iPad. The iOS app, which had been abandoned for over a year, was updated this week with several new features, including support for recently released Apple devices and also Dark Mode compatibility on iOS 13. After pairing the computer with another device using the IP address, users can access the Windows Desktop and the entire file system with support for multi-touch controls and gestures, audio, microphone, and even cameras....

Microsoft has silently updated its Office apps to iOS today with some interesting features for iPad users. While Microsoft Word now supports mouse and trackpad interaction, the Excel app finally works with multi-window mode. Microsoft announced these features in May last year, but the company has been releasing them in phases for each Office app. Word, which already supported multi-window mode, is now getting full support for mouse and trackpad on the iPad....

The production start date for WandaVision has potentially been revealed. Michael Fassbender has entered talks to star in Taika Waititi’s upcoming film, Next Goal Wins. The movie will be based on the 2014 documentary of the same name, which chronicles how the American Samoa national football team - known for being one of the worst teams around following a humiliating loss to Australia in 2001 - set out to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Canadian developer i4i first sued Microsoft in 2007, accusing the US company of illegally using its XML editing technology in the popular Word software line. In May, a Texas jury said Microsoft violated i4i’s patent, and ordered it to pay i4i nearly $300 million in damages. Microsoft filed various appeals and won a six-month delay in execution of the order to remove Word and Office in their current forms from sale....
