Marvel’s upcoming Loki is one of the most anticipated shows of 2020 and recently added Owen Wilson to its cast - but who might he be playing? Tom Hiddleston debuted as the titular God of Mischief in 2011’s Thor. Despite serving as the villain of the story, the character’s complexity coupled with Hiddleston’s performance turned him into a firm fan-favorite. As a result, he was the perfect principal antagonist of 2012’s The Avengers....

[Spoilers for Stan Lee’s cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2] - Marvel chief Kevin Feige has endorsed the popular fan theory that Stan Lee is playing the same character in all of his MCU roles. Although he’s been popping up in Marvel-related adaptations since 1989’s The Trial of The Incredible Hulk (and was already a recognizable figure in comics from decades before), Stan Lee’s humorous cameos have - similar to post-credits scenes - become intrinsically associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been growing and expanding since first kicking off in Iron Man in 2008. ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the first television offshoot from the film side of the MCU, though Netflix has built up its street-level corner as well in recent years. Now, Marvel TV has a number of projects in development, including Freeform’s Cloak and Dagger, Hulu’s The Runaways, and ABC’s Inhumans - the latter of which is being co-produced by IMAX....

Loki features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “Loki,” and Michael Waldron is head writer. All Marvel All the Time Disney is positioning the new shows so as to have new MCU content to view all the time....

Spoilers for Punisher: Soviet #3 The Punisher series is known for a number of things (mainly violence), but Garth Ennis and Jacen Burrow’s Punisher: Soviet #3 might just be adding humor to the list. While this issue is no Archie Meets the Punisher (a great story for Riverdale incidentally), the issue delivers the kind of joke that might tempt fans to indulge in a good chuckle. Given their bonding experience last issue, Valery Stepanovich not only got The Punisher’s attention, but earned himself the chance to give Frank his life story, or at least the story that led him to scooping Frank’s kills on the Pronchenko mob family....

Season 3 of The Masked Singer is on its way in February. Fox released the promo trailer which teases that next season will feature even bigger celebrities. In the clip, they reveal four of the celebrity costumes - the Mouse, the Robot, the Banana, and the Monster. This who-sung-it singing competition combines mystery, celebrities, and talent. With two seasons under Fox’s belt, The Masked Singer has become a smash hit, as audiences watch as celebrities face off against each other in an epic singing battle, dressed head to toe in elaborate costumes and full face masks to conceal their true identities....

Mayans MC has been renewed for season 3 at FX. A spinoff of Sons of Anarchy, the show has gone through a lot of changes behind the scenes in recent months. In August, co-creator Kurt Sutter announced his plans to step away from the show. In October, Sutter was fired from FX due to what was described as a series of complaints about his behavior. Although both decisions aren’t without controversy, the renewal is a clear indication that Mayans MC is ready to move forward into a new era....

With all of the privacy invasion news (read: PRISM) going around nowadays, lots of encryption and security solutions have been seeing record sales. iMessage uses end-to-end encryption, but the security of Skype, AIM and MSN are questionable. The popular IM+ app (free version, pro version) is offering their $4.99 “off-the-record” feature for just 99 cents until the end of tomorrow. Rather than using a single, proprietary messaging services, IM+ uses the OTR standard that can be used with many messaging services and across many devices....

Windows 10 Preview Build 19645 Here’s a look at the general changes and improvements in today’s release: We changed the servicing model for the Linux kernel inside of Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 distributions. This build includes this change to remove the Linux kernel from the Windows image, and instead have it be serviced via Microsoft Update, the same way that 3rd party drivers (like graphics, or touchpad drivers) are installed and updated on your machine today....

Mortal Kombat 11 announced that the game will scale back the custom variation system that it had implemented on its online ranked play, according to part of the game’s cover reveal for Game Informer. Mortal Kombat 11’s custom variation system lets players choose different special moves to create a loadout closely in tune with their own playstyle, which adds depth to the way players go about their online play. Mortal Kombat 11 is a massive release for developer NetherRealm Studios, and the company is treating it as such....

Last year it was reported that Major League Baseball fans would soon be able to take advantage of iOS 7’s iBeacon support inside professional baseball stadiums. The technology would be utilized in the MLB.com At The Ballpark app to customize the app’s interface to any given ballpark. The app could direct users to their seats or points of interest such as concessions stands. Similar to Passbook’s lockscreen functionality, plans were also reportedly underway to allow the app to automatically present a ticket upon entering the gate....

In a recent interview with Wenner Media’s Glixel, Mario-creator Shigeru Miyamoto opens up about the creative development process, working with Apple, and the upcoming Super Mario Run for iOS. Miyamoto describes approaching Apple on the idea for the game, and working with Cupertino leadership that was willing to listen.
