OneNote, Microsoft’s cross-platform application for taking and organizing notes, received a useful update on the Mac adding support for OCR, or optical character recognition. OneNote version 15.7.1, which is rolling out on the Mac App Store now, adds the ability to scan images from OneDrive notebooks for text. Once OneNote’s OCR system has ran, you can actually copy the text and save it to your notes just like if it were a editable text file from the start....

Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said back in September of last year that Apple was working on new mini-LED iPad models, to be launched sometime around the end of 2020, or beginning of 2021. There’s now corroboration for that report, a supply-chain report claiming that Apple has now placed orders for these after approving earlier samples … The report comes from Chinese site UDN, which says Apple is using a new supplier....

The fun did not stop in the iOS 6 maps brouhaha this weekend as a number of items hit the Web. Perhaps most interesting, iOS hacker Ryan Perrich claimed to have gotten Google’s map tiles to work on iOS 6 Maps. If true, it might alleviate some of the growing pains iOS 6 users are facing. Next up… TechCrunch noticed Apple still refers to Google Maps when Mapping emails are sent to non-iOS 6 users....

COPA announced the membership on Monday, saying that the addition of Meta is the biggest cryptocurrency patent commitment to date. COPA was created in 2020 and encourages crypto innovation by lowering the chance of patent litigation by building open-source environments to protect core technologies for all users.
