The new MacBook Pro has caused countless controversies over the last few weeks, from its lack of legacy I/O ports to graphics issues and battery life concerns, and Microsoft says this is leading to more Mac users than ever switching to Surface PCs and laptops. In a yearly review on the Windows blog, the company said that more people are switching from Mac to Surface than ever before with Mac customers disappointed by Apple’s new MacBook Pro and enticed by Surface innovations....

The Netflix series Mindhunter follows two FBI agents in the 1970s and 1980s as they attempt to amass profiles of serial killers. These agents, Holden Ford and Bill Tench, travel the country, interviewing famous sequential slayers. The show is inspired by the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, written by retired FBI agents John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. Like Ford and Tench in the show, Douglas and Olshaker spent decades interviewing and profiling serial killers....

A market research study by AppsFlyer details the ever-growing mobile advertising world, as $38.9 billion was reportedly spent in 2018, with 34% growth expected by 2020, reaching $64.1 billion, globally. The study attributes the growth to the fact there are more smartphones than ever paired with an ever-growing app catalogue. Thus, more paid campaigns have resulted in more ad spend than ever. Coming straight from Todd McFarlane himself, the first official look at Spawn in Mortal Kombat 11 has been revealed with photos of the MK action figure. Based on highly detailed photos, Spawn will be wielding a massive sword in MK11, along with a full rendering of his trademark cloak. Other expectedly gruesome accessories in the photos include spiked gauntlets and chained belt. McFarlane, the creator of Spawn, provided plenty of details about the figurine behind the photos....

Newly surfaced concept art from Thor: The Dark World makes Malekith look a lot like Ultron from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thor: The Dark World was Thor’s second solo outing, while Age of Ultron was the second team up film featuring the original six heroes Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Thor. Malekith the Accursed is a well-known enemy of Thor, who first appeared in Marvel comics in Thor #344 in 1984....

Over recent weeks, iCloud users have started to notice an increased amount of spam coming to various aspects of their accounts. Email accounts, of course, are always vulnerable to spam messages and the root cause can be a variety of different reasons. This new type of spam, however, relates to iCloud’s Calendar and Photo Sharing functionalities… Essentially what happens in these instances is an iCloud user will receive a request for either a Calendar event or to view/share an iCloud Photo Sharing album or image....

Mario Kart Tour for iPhone and iPad will finally add support for landscape mode in an update being released tomorrow. Once this update is available, you’ll be able to play Mario Kart Tour in landscape orientation, with a new set of controls to match. The lack of support for landscape orientation has been one of the major limitations for Mario Kart Tour since its debut, particularly on iPad. Nintendo says an update to Mario Kart Tour for iPhone and iPad, scheduled for release on July 21, will finally solve this problem....

One of Spider-Man’s signature super-powers, the spider-sense is traditionally portrayed as a sort of “danger sense.” It gives Spider-Man an instinctive awareness of threats, and over the years he’s learned to trust it instinctively. It may be a staple part of Spider-Man’s powerset, but the spider-sense has always been pretty mysterious. It doesn’t always trigger in response to immediate danger, which means Peter Parker sometimes struggles to interpret it; for example, it warned the wall-crawler when Glory Grant was dating a werewolf, but he had no idea what it was that was setting his senses tingling....

Microsoft has made its To-Do app available for the first time to Mac users. The company has launched Microsoft To-Do via the Mac App Store and includes rich features like shared tasks and lists, file attachment support, syncing with Outlook, and more. Spotted by Thurrott, up until now, Mac users had to rely on the web app for Microsoft To-Do. Now the native Mac app provides a great way to use Microsoft’s To-Do alongside the iOS version....

The unverified photo from a Chinese Apple Store appearing to show a slight refresh to the Retina MacBook Pro launch is accurate, claims French site MacG, citing a reliable source. As we inch closer to the late 2011 iPhone 5 introduction, more parts purported to belong to a fifth-generation iPhone find their way onto the web at large. MacPost has discovered (via MacRumors) several components claimed to represent iPhone 5 parts, including the headphone jacks (above), camera lens and proximity sensor flex cable which is pictured in the above below. Note that these are actually iPhone 5 replacements, not the actual parts used in manufacturing of the handset....
