Malcolm in the Middle was a hit popular show in the early 200s starring a young Frankie Muniz and Bryan Cranston before his popularity grew in Breaking Bad. The show follows a dysfunctional family of rebellious brothers who try to make it through their day in a small town.

It has everything, humor, heart-touching moments, action, adventure, and many of the cast members were able to find work after the show concluded. Unfortunately, they didn’t find much success afterward. Here are all of the cast’s worst roles according to IMDb.

Erik Per Sullivan (Dewie) - Christmas With The Kranks 5.3

Erik Per Sullivan plays Dewie, the youngest of the brothers and the most mischievous. He has a little of all his brothers in him and he makes for  very interesting character we all grew to love.

What we didn’t love though was when he played Spike in the low rating Christmas movie Christmas With the Kranks. Although it had an impressive cast with Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis, the plot and story was cheesy and very predictable.

Justin Berfield (Reese) - The Kid With X-Ray Eyes 3.5

Justin Berfield played Reese, the intimidating yet not so smart second oldest brother. Reese is sometimes the outcast due to his brothers being a lot smarter than him. That doesn’t make him a less than memorable character because he was often the one that helped hold the family together.

Unfortunately his role as Bobby Taylor in The Kid with the X-Ray Eyes. The movie revolved around Berfield’s character and his father as they stumble upon a pair of x-ray goggles that were misplaced by an evil crime ring.

Yeah, not a very good plot and a bit of a bruise on Berfield’s acting career.

Jane Kaczmarek (Lois) - Jenifer 5.9

Jane Kaczmarek plays Lois, the family’s mom and head of the household due to her husband’s passive nature. Although she is intimidating, she is a loving mother and wife and usually has the family’s best interests at heart.

In Jenifer, she plays a sister in a real-life retelling of three sisters coming together after one of them is diagnosed with ALS. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as well-received as her other characters as this rank as her lowest-rated role.

Christopher Masterson (Francis) - Beneath The Leaves 4.5

Christopher Masterson comes from a family of actors, with siblings in hit shows like The Walking Dead and That 70’s Show. In Malcolm in the Middle, he plays the older, estranged brother of the family. in the first couple of seasons, he is in military school after Lois sends him there due to his misbehavior.

In Beneath The Leaves he again plays a brother, this time in a much more sinister and frightening way as he’s on the run from a serial killer. Although the plot sounds good, it wasn’t scary or thrilling enough according to viewers who rated it a 4.5.

Craig Lamar Taylor (Stevie) - Dance Fu 3.2

Stevie was Malcolm’s best friend and most loyal classmate. Being in a wheelchair he wasn’t able to go on as many adventures but he still stuck through and became a fan favorite.

After his time in Malcolm in the Middle, he didn’t find much-acting work and suffered greatly. But his reputation couldn’t have taken  bigger hit than playing a role in a low graded movie like Dance Fu, a movie with no clear plot or intention for the audience.

David Anthony Higgins (Craig) - Miss Nobody 5.5

Craig was Lois’ persistent and rather creepy co-worker who was seemingly in love with her throughout their time working together. He knew she was married with a family and still attempted to make advances even though they were unwelcome.

Unfortunately, his luck doesn’t stop here as he was cast in the bad rated Miss Nobody playing Morty, a victim of the protagonist, a woman who finds she is good at murder. Although it sounds like it would be a good movie, it’s really questionable and the lack of story doesn’t do the cast justice.

Kenneth Mars (Otto) -  Teddy Bears’ Picnic 4.0

Otto is the eccentric German owner of the grotto, where Francis and eventually his wife works at. He is always making some random requests that baffle Francis and has us laughing.

Kenneth Mars is unfortunately gone but his acting resume is extensive, playing roles in all types of movies. Unfortunately not all his roles are well-known or popular, especially his part in Teddy Bears’ Picnic where he played the small role of Gene. Even though he wasn’t in the movie much, his impact didn’t hale save the movie as it got one of the lowest ratings on this list.

Tania Raymonde (Cynthia) - Dirty Lies 4.5

Cynthia is Malcolm’s female friend and eventual love interest despite her dating Reese at one point and not always being the nicest to Malcolm.

Nowadays Tania is still busty with acting although not all of her roles have been for the better. In 2017 she played Amber in Dirty Lies. The movie underwhelmed in the box office and received a low grade as a result.

Bryan Cranston (Hal) - Get A Job 5.3

Bryan Cranston is a well-respected actor and Hal, the father of the boys and husband to Lois. Although he isn’t the smartest, he is still a good father and is often the one the boys go to to avoid their strict mother.

Although Cranston is an expert actor, his movies aren’t always good. It is proven in Get a Job where he plays a father but to an adult son who is struggling to find a job. While he is struggling, the dad is also struggling while also trying to look and feel young again. Despite the good cast, the movie didn’t do well and received a low score.

Frankie Muniz (Malcolm) - Agent Cody Banks 2 4.5

The name of the show, the main character, Frankie Muniz was something of an icon in the early 2000s as he was just about everything. He had an extensive resume prior to the show and had success after before he decided to take a break from acting.

We might remember him in classics, but we definitely want to forget his role as Agent Cody Banks in the sequel of Agent Cody Banks. Both movies were rated low and although Muniz starred with Hilary Duff, Anthony Anderson, and more he still lacked chops in this poorly executed franchise.
