Mark Hamill shares a fan-made image of a Star Wars LEGO set that should be real. When the original movie came out in 1977, few could have predicted the phenomenon it’d become, meaning retailers were ill-prepared for the demand for Star Wars merchandise. But the days of Kenner’s infamous empty box campaign are in the very distant past. Now, not only is the unveiling of Star Wars tie-in products an unofficial holiday, everything from action figures to cases of bottled water have the franchise branding.

LEGO is one of the most prominent companies to have a Star Wars license, producing a plethora of sets that recreate scenes and moments from all the films. One of the most iconic sequences in the entire franchise is Luke Skywalker’s duel against Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back, which people can play out with the Cloud City LEGO set. Of course, that fight ended with Luke losing his hand and lightsaber, and now a fan imagines that getting the LEGO treatment as well.

On Twitter, Hamill shared an image of a fan-made LEGO kit that consists of Luke’s severed hand and lightsaber. In the hashtags, he joked that if this toy were real, it would be one of the worst ever. Check out his post in the space below:

This fictional set is actually a deep cut for those who have fond memories of following the old Force Awakens rumor mill. For a while, Episode VII was said to begin with the image of Luke’s hand (clutching the lightsaber) falling through space before landing unsuspectingly on Jakku. Of course, the movie’s MacGuffin was later changed to be a map to Luke, but the saber still played a vital role. It called out to Rey while she was on Takodana, as she took her first steps towards fulfilling her destiny. The classic Skywalker family lightsaber became Rey’s weapon of choice up until when it was torn apart in The Last Jedi. Time will tell what saber Rey will wield during Episode IX.

Though Maz Kanata told Han Solo the circumstances of the lightsaber’s return was “a good question, for another time,” the sequel trilogy has yet to provide an explanation for what happened. Even though Lupita Nyong’o is returning as Maz for Episode IX, it doesn’t seem likely the issue will be resolved in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film. The saga finale has a lot on its plate, and this may just be a plot hole fans will have to look past. Perhaps one of the other areas of canon, be it a novel or comic book, can address it one day.
