Married at First Sight star Jamie Thompson recently admitted that he wishes he could start over with his wife Elizabeth Bice. He said he’d do things a lot differently on the reality TV show.
Married at First Sight is a Lifetime reality show that brings together two complete strangers - deemed compatible by the show’s “relationship experts” - who’ve agreed to marry each other on the spot. These brand new couples then spend their wedding night in a hotel together before going on their honeymoon, then live together as a married couple for eight weeks before deciding whether or not they want to divorce or stay married. One of the couples featured this season, Season 9, is Thompson and Bice, who’ve been having a difficult time getting along, resulting in blowout arguments on the show. It’s gotten so bad that Thompson is now saying he’d like a redo.
Recently on Married at First Sight, Thompson confronted Bice about jokes she makes regarding him leaving her at the end of the show. He felt that she kept making these comments because she thought there was truth to them. That’s when Bice accused Thompson of brining too much negativity into their relationship and making her feel like “sh*t” all the time. Thompson felt awful about this and expressed his regret on a recent episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, where contestants sit down with Jamie Nicole Hehner, who appeared on Married at First Sight: The First Year, to talk about the ups and downs of their new relationships. Check out footage from one of their arguments (via: Married at First Sight’s Instagram) below:
Thompson said he cringed when watching the arguments between him and Bice, adding that he wishes he could go back in time so his wife didn’t feel this way. He said he hated the way they spoke to each other and felt like they didn’t really think about the affect their words had on one another. Despite their arguments, Thompson and Bice said they were still madly in love and wanted to be married. Thompson reiterated this on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, telling Hehner he wants to “build a life” with Bice. If he could go back, however, he said he’d listen more and be more compassionate, rather than looking out for himself and responding with “jabs.”
Thompson and Bice are not the only Married at First Sight contestants going through a hard time right now. The couple has received a lot of support from their fellow cast members. Fans will have to continue to watch this season to find out whether or not the pair will make it through these early relationship hurdles.
