Square Enix has revealed the various special edition releases for its Marvel’s Avengers game. These include pre-order bonus items, a PS4-exclusive digital edition, a deluxe edition, and a physical-only “Earth’s Mightiest” special edition.
Despite being a game based on one of the biggest media franchises of today, it’s hard to say what fans can expect from Marvel’s Avengers. Square Enix has shown off plenty of information about Marvel’s Avengers multiplayer elements, third-person action gameplay, and original story, but it’s not exactly clear how it will all fit together. It’s a story about the Avengers’ established characters, but it’s also aiming to be a live-service multiplayer game, akin to something like Destiny or The Division. Fans got their best look at the game’s structure in a Marvel’s Avengers mission variety trailer, which detailed the split between campaign Hero Missions and multiplayer Warzone Missions.
After redesigning Avengers’ characters based on fans’ criticism, developer Crystal Dynamics has likely won at least the goodwill of Marvel-loving gamers. Those excited for the game can find more about all Marvel’s Avengers special edition items and pre-order bonuses below.
Marvel’s Avengers Game Pre-Order Bonuses
Pre-ordering any physical or digital edition of Marvel’s Avengers, including the standard edition, will grant player the Marvel Legacy Outfit Pack, the Marvel Legacy Nameplate, and access to the game’s beta (beta date not yet announced). The Legacy outfits are inspired by the moments from each Avenger’s comics when they embraced their powers and became heroes. Pre-ordering Marvel’s Avengers on PS4 will grand players additional, exclusive content, namely Ms. Marvel’s “Talk to the Hand” emote, a “simple yet slick” PSN theme, and 72-hour early access to the game.
Marvels Avengers Game PS4-Exclusive Digital Edition
More PS4-exclusive content is available via the Marvel’s Avengers Exclusive Digital Edition. This includes 1,000 in-game Credits, which can be spent on customizing players’ heroes, and the Ms. Marvel Nameplate, depicting Kamala Khan in a whimsical pose.
Marvels Avengers Game Deluxe Edition
The Marvel’s Avengers Deluxe Edition features gold-accented Obsidian outfits for each hero, along with matching nameplates. The Deluxe Edition also provides 72-hour early access to the game, regardless of platform. Physical versions of the Deluxe Edition come with a free one-month subscription to the Marvel Unlimited digital comics service. It’s not clear if those who purchase the Deluxe Edition on PS4 will receive the exclusive bonuses from the PS4-Exclusive Digital Edition.
Marvels Avengers Game Earth’s Mightiest Edition
Marvel’s Avengers’ most feature-packed special edition is the Earth’s Mightiest Edition. This PS4- and Xbox One-exclusive, physical-only collector’s package contains a physical goody inspired by each of the six heroes playable at launch: a Captain America Statue, a Black Widow Belt Buckle, an Iron Man suit blueprint, a Hulk bobblehead, Thor’s Mjolnir keychain, and Ms. Marvel’s “Honorary Avenger” pin. Additionally, the Earth’s Mightiest Edition includes a SteelBook case for the game and a group photo of the main Avengers characters.
