Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is bringing the fight against Thanos to the Nintendo Switch and the roster of heroes now includes Hawkeye of the Avengers and Ms. Marvel of the Champions & Secret Warriors. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is an upcoming action RPG that tells an expanded version of Thanos’ quest to claim the Infinity Gauntlet.
The story of the game will be different from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in that it can use characters from every part of the Marvel universe, which means that Thanos will have to compete with the likes of the Inhumans and the X-Men. The other villains in the Marvel universe will also be present, which means that the likes of the Sentinels and Sandman can be faced in battle.
The roster of playable characters in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is already huge, but two new names have been added to the list. According to Game Informer, Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel will be part of the cast. Hawkeye’s appearance is based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the character, and he’ll be able to use his trick shot arrows in order to perform a range of different attacks in battle. Hawkeye debuted as a DLC character in the Xbox 360 version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, before skipping Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. The fact that the character has been propelled to mainstream status by the Avengers movies likely contributed to his return to the series.
Ms. Marvel is the Kamala Khan incarnation of the character, who took on the mantle after Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel. Khan gained her powers from her Inhuman heritage, which allow her to alter the shape of her body and gave her a similar healing factor to Wolverine. It’s due to her polymorphing ability that Ms. Marvel can expand the size of her body parts in order to beat up her enemies. Khan has grown in popularity in recent years and the fans of her comic appearances are eagerly awaiting her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which Kevin Feige has hinted will be happening sooner rather than later.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will have a playable roster that’s made up of characters from the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Inhumans, and the X-Men, as well as featuring several different incarnations of Spider-Man and independent heroes that don’t belong to any single team, such as Deadpool. The fact that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is showing love to a character who’s mostly only known to the comic reading Marvel audience is a good sign that the roster of heroes will be more impressive than that of the earlier games in the series.
