The list of films and television shows being represented at CCXP continues to grow, with The MCU, Star Wars, and Wonder Woman 1984 added to the lineup. CCXP, or Comic-Con Experience, in Sao Paulo is a convention that has been rising in popularity since its creation in 2014. After attracting lots of big stars and projects over the years, it now seems just as popular as San Diego Comic-Con. It kicks off on December 5 and runs through December 8.
It was previously announced that the stars of Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will have a panel at CCXP after missing SDCC to start hyping up its February 2020 release. Much like SDCC, CCXP offers studios the chance to get fans excited about their new films and shows, and the fans who attend often get peeks at first-look footage. Several trailers are expected to debut at CCXP with the newly announced panels.
Deadline has reported the Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) panel will take place on December 5, which is CCXP’s preview night. The first full day of the convention, December 6, has panels on some highly anticipated television shows including The Boys (featuring cast members like Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, and Antony Starr) and Star Trek: Picard (with cast members Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Isa Briones, and Jonathan del Arco). December 7 sees Disney out in full force, with Marvel’s Kevin Feige speaking about the MCU’s Phase Four and Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy taking part in a panel on the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Director J.J. Abrams and stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac will also be present.
The final day of the convention will include a panel on HBO’s His Dark Materials, complete with appearances from Dafne Keen, Ruth Wilson, and Clarke Peters. Netflix’s 6 Underground will also be on hand with Ryan Reynolds. Fans will also be granted a first look at Wonder Woman 1984 alongside director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot. The first trailer for the highly anticipated film is expected to drop during this panel.
Fans who eagerly await news coming out of SDCC are likely very, very excited for CCXP. Some of next year’s most anticipated movies will be getting trailers, and other tidbits of news are going to be revealed. For example, the season 2 premiere date for The Boys could be announced. Feige might shed some light on the MCU Disney+ shows alongside footage for Black Widow or Eternals. With less than a month before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it’s unlikely Kennedy and the others will reveal any plot points, but there is a chance for more clips to be released. Regardless of what news comes out, this weekend is looking to be an exciting one for fans of The MCU, Wonder Woman 1984, and Star Wars.
