As The Masked Singer gears up for the semi-finals, episode 10 was full of surprises, including a visit by last year’s winner T-Pain as a guest judge. For some, the reveal was a surprise, but it was just one more opportunity to prove the fans online are tough to fool. Did this week have any new clues to change their opinions on the remaining masked songbirds?
The series of articles on Screen Rant that have tracked the best internet guesses has successfully predicted every unveiling so far. Some of the initial guesses may have been off, but the up-to-date guesses at the time of reveal have been accurate week after week. Having moved on from the head-to-head battles, this episode had six masked singers competing to remain anonymous. After all six fantastic performances, Tree fell and was revealed to be, as the internet predicted, Saturday Night Live’s alum Ana Gasteyer.
FOX
Best Guess: Wayne Brady
Fox’s new clues mentioned wanting to fly away, which made some think of the Lenny Kravitz song by that name, but sharp fans remembered Wayne Brady was on a TV show called I’ll Fly Away. There were also more superhero references - possibly hinting at his work in Batman Beyond, as well as the fact that Brady will be joining the cast of CW’s Black Lightning in 2020 - and an image with stools, like the ones from Brady’s show. It doesn’t seem like there was anything new to see here. This week, even judge Robin Thicke got on board with this prediction.
LEOPARD
Best Guess: Seal
Before Leopard’s performance, fans got a clue package that included lots of tennis references, reminding many that Seal was paired with tennis great Martina Navratilova at Chris Evert’s Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic last year. The crashed model motorcycle linked to the motorcycle accident that the “Kissed by a Rose” singer was involved in when he was younger. There was also an image of tofu, likely to remind fans that Seal is a vegetarian. With all the new clues backing up the ones already given in past episodes, there is no reason to believe that anyone other than British singer Seal is Leopard. On a roll tonight, judge Robin Thicke also joined the Seal bandwagon with fans and judge Nicole Scherzinger, who called it last week.
THINGAMAJIG
Best Guess: Victor Oladipo
After landing in the bottom two last week, Thingamajig came out swinging this week. Fans got to see more blue and gold Indian Pacers colors in the form of a blue and gold jacket shown in the clues. One of the big giveaways this week, however, came after the performance when Thingamajig told the judges he’d collaborated with someone that one of them had also collaborated with. Fans were quick to point out the Trey Songz connection. Trey Songz worked with Victor Oladipo and who has also worked with guest judge and previous Masked Singer winner T-Pain. The judges may be struggling with this one, but fans have known since week 1 that Thingamajig is Victor Oldadipo.
FLAMINGO
Best Guess: Adrienne Bailon
Flamingo didn’t give a lot to go on this week, but gave a huge clue when she said she shared the couch with one of the judges in 2013. It didn’t take long for the internet sleuths to locate a picture of The Real host Bailon as a guest on the short-lived Jenny McCarthy Show. There is nothing The Masked Singer can hide from these determined viewers with access to Google. This just went to further support past guesses of Flamingo’s identity. Since the beginning, fans have known this was former Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon.
ROTTWEILER
Best Guess: Chris Daughtry
This week’s clue packet still pointed to American Idol’s Chris Daughtry, with zen and meditation references that keep in line with the vegan singer’s lifestyle. A blue rose yet again points to the blue rose tattoo Daughtry sports on his arm. Fans, however, didn’t really need any more confirmation on this top dog’s identity. While the judges might not get it, viewers have consistently said they recognize the voice of Chris Daughtry under Rottweiler’s mask.
