Meizu is expected to launch the 16S series smartphones soon this month. The phones will be an update to the 16th flagship duo launched by Meizu last year. Design wise, don’t expect a major upgrade as the main aim of Meizu now is to make their bezels as small as possible with the selfie camera and sensors still inside. Meizu don’t want to have a notch in their flagship phones, nor are they interested in punch hole cameras or lifting cameras.
Suspected photos of the Meizu 16S in white colour have leaked online, showing the beauty of the phone.
From the front, the phone looks exactly like the Meizu 16th, though with a bit smaller bezels. On the back side, there aren’t major changes either as just the placement of the camera setup has been changed. Maybe Meizu will change their design with the Meizu 17th (or whatever they call it).
Internals are where the phone gets some major upgrades. The phone packs the latest Snapdragon 855 Soc with Adreno 640 GPU. Recently, the phone was also surfaced on Antutu revealing the benchmark score and some specifications.
The phone has an impressive benchmark score with 357975 points. Do note that the phone with 6GB RAM was tested. So expect a little higher score with the variant having some extra gigs of RAM. As of the specifications, the phone will have a Full HD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2232 x 1080 pixels. It will run on Flyme 7 on top of Android 9. The phone will have a battery capacity of 3600 mAh, and will be the thinnest amongst the phones having the same battery capacity. The bigger variant of the phone named 16S Plus will also support fast wireless charging. It will also have NFC as confirmed by Jack Wong earlier.
The phone is expected to launch later this month, or maybe early in the next month. It will start with a price tag of 3299 Yuan. Meizu 16th and 16th Plus recently received price cuts hinting the launch of Meizu 16S. Stay tuned with us for any future updates!
