Over the weekend, a few photos appear to show that the iPhone 7 will indeed come in a new Space Black color variant, as previously rumored. The black chassis, SIM tray and mute button we saw earlier pictured are markedly darker than the Space Grey color seen with iPhone 6s. The exact source of these new images is unclear. The new black color mirrors the Space Black option for Apple Watch....
Disney has officially confirmed when each episode of The Mandalorian will be released on Disney+, revealing how they’re working around Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s release. There has been a lack of Star Wars content to this point in 2019, but the final two months of the year will be packed with new releases. In addition to the final Skywalker Saga film and the first live-action Star Wars show, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be out in just a few weeks....
Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men relaunch is centered upon one of the most absurd mutants of all time: Goldballs. Most comic book readers tend to be drawn to the more powerful superheroes, and with the X-Men, that means the recently-defined Omega level mutants. At the other end of the other scale, though, are the characters whose powersets really aren’t impressive. Like, at all. Jubilee gets a lot of flak for producing fireworks (even if that ignores the “Phalanx Covenant” arc suggesting she breaks matter down on a molecular level)....
Set photos indicate that Disney+’s MCU show Falcon and the Winter Soldier could be hiding a secret Marvel Comics superhero. It’s possible that Battlestar, another character from the comic story that the show is using, may make his live-action debut in the upcoming Disney+ series. Scheduled for the fall, Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the first MCU show to be released on Disney’s new streaming service. Though Steve Rogers’ story in the MCU ended with Avengers: Endgame, Falcon and the Winter Soldier will continue the stories of several characters from the Captain America trilogy, particularly the two titular heroes, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan)....
Mary Meeker has presented her 2019 Internet Trends Report today during Recode’s Code Conference. The annual report offers a comprehensive look at trends including smartphone shipments, new Internet users and usage, e-commerce, and much more. This year’s annual Internet Trends report includes 333 slides covering users, e-commerce + advertising, usage, freemium business models, data growth, work, education, immigration, healthcare, and China. First in the report, Meeker highlights that the growth of global Internet users is “solid,” but slowing down....
While Stephen King is a legend of literary horror, his attempt at directing a feature film, 1986’s Maximum Overdrive, wasn’t met with much acclaim. Microsoft has a lot of form for using Surface ads to make fun of the iPad, even if it has to mislead to do so. More recently, it seemed to be targeting Macs rather than iPads, but its latest ad – posted this week – is back to attacking the iPad … Following a new Apple ad that positions the iPad Pro as a fully-fledged computer, Microsoft’s new ad (below) hits back by suggesting that simply adding a keyboard doesn’t make the device comparable to a Surface tablet....
Microsoft Office on Android When Microsoft first invited users to test Office on their Android devices back in November, it was relegated to ARM-based tablets running KitKat. Now the company has added Lollipop to testing and has also opened it to the public since the program received an overwhelming response. Yes, your device has to be a tablet – smartphones will have to wait for now. The apps are the same Office core apps available on iPad – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint....
With the release of Windows 7 today, Microsoft also released an updated version of their Security Scanning Tool – Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer or MBSA Version 2.1.1. Microsoft says this latest release builds on previous versions by adding support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. The free Windows security scanning tool is a must for the InfoSec toolkit or any IT pro for that matter. It’s nice to see MS didn’t waste any time getting this out....

It wasn’t long after the watchOS 7 release that some Apple Watch owners started reporting missing GPS data from workouts. Apple now has a suggested partial fix, but it appears it won’t restore the missing data … We reported the problem last month. MacRumors spotted a new Apple Support document addressing the issue. It appears the iOS 14 and watchOS 7 updates could cause a whole array of problems, not just missing GPS data....
Steve Jobs may have passed away more than three years ago, but he is still having patents awarded today as applications work their way through the system and old patents are renewed with updates. MIT Technology Review notes that of the 458 patents credited to Jobs, almost a third of them have been awarded since his death in October 2011. His patent documents act as a record of Apple’s history, says the site … Since his death in 2011 from pancreatic cancer, the former Apple CEO has won 141 patents....
